Rules

For bookings, businesses and sharing your own gear · Last updated: October 2026

The short version

  • We never take, hold or refund money. You pay the business or the gear owner directly.
  • Businesses pay a monthly price per active listing — no commission, no fee per booking. Free during launch.
  • Members share 2 items free (+5 with Explorer).
  • Contact details are shared only when a request is accepted.
  • Every business and listing is checked before it shows.
  • After a booking either side can say it didn’t happen within 7 days; repeated problems are looked at by moderators.

Bookings and requests

For everyone who books — from a shop, a guide, a place to stay or another member.

  1. B1We’re the noticeboard, not the seller. The agreement is between you and the business or member. We don’t take payments, hold deposits, give refunds or guarantee the service. Price, payment, deposit and cancellation terms are what the two of you agree.

  2. B2Requests. Rentals, stays and member gear are booked by request: dates (up to 60 days, starting within 365 days), people, how many items and a message. You can send up to 10 requests a day and one request per listing for the same days.

  3. B3Nothing is booked until accepted. The business or owner accepts or declines. Only then do both of you see each other’s phone and e-mail. A request nobody answered expires on its first day.

  4. B4Activities and transfers. A place on an activity or a seat on a transfer is booked at once if there’s room. You get a reminder the day before.

  5. B5Cancelling. Either side can cancel in My bookings; the other side is told at once. Cancel as early as you can — the business’s own cancellation terms (for example a deposit) are between you.

  6. B6After the booking. The day after, you get “How was it?”. For 7 days the customer can report it didn’t happen and the business or owner can report a no-show; the other side is told. With no report it counts as completed.

  7. B7Reviews. Stays, activities and transfers can be reviewed only after a booking through us has started. A review written after a real booking shows “After a booking”; the mark goes if the booking is reported as not happening. Reviews must be honest and about the service.

  8. B8Don’t book what you won’t use. No-shows are recorded. Repeated no-shows or false reports can get your account limited or closed.

Businesses

Shops, schools and guides, activity providers, transfer companies and places to stay. Start at List your business.

  1. L1A real business, true details. Business name, address, contacts and website must be true and yours. A moderator can mark a business Verified after checking it’s real (website, address, company registry) — the badge is never given automatically.

  2. L2Checked before it shows. A new business and every new listing stay hidden until approved. A changed listing is checked again; while it waits, a verified business’s listing stays visible, others are hidden.

  3. L3One listing is one thing. One bike model with how many you have, one activity or lesson with its time slots, one transfer route with its departures, one property. Don’t combine different products in one listing to pay less.

  4. L4Fair use. Up to 20 active listings of one kind and 200 upcoming time slots or departures per listing. Need more? Write to go@adventroute.com.

  5. L5Honest listings. Real photos of what you offer, the real price with any compulsory extras, and availability you can keep. Only content you have the right to use.

  6. L6Answer and keep your word. Answer requests — unanswered ones expire. If you must cancel, do it as early as possible: cancellations less than 48 hours before the start are counted, and so are bookings reported as not happening.

  7. L7Repeated problems. Two problems of one kind within 90 days put your business in front of a moderator, who can ask you about it, hide listings or close the business. Nothing happens automatically from the count alone.

  8. L8Your responsibilities. You take the payment, so taxes, licences, insurance and consumer rights towards your customers are yours to handle.

  • Prices are per active listing and exclude VAT. A paused listing costs nothing.
  • Pay for a year at once: 10 months’ price for 12. 10 or more paid listings: −15%.
  • No commission and no fee per booking — customers pay you directly.
  • Free during launch. We e-mail you at least 30 days before anything is charged, and nothing is charged unless you choose to keep a listing.
  1. P1You pay for active listings. A monthly price per active listing, depending on the kind (table above). Paused, hidden or waiting listings cost nothing. No commission and no fee per booking.

  2. P2Launch. Listing is free during launch. We e-mail every business at least 30 days before charging starts. You then choose which listings to keep; the ones you don’t pay for are paused — hidden, never deleted.

  3. P3Discounts. Paying for a year at once costs 10 months. With 10 or more paid listings, every listing is 15% cheaper.

  4. P4Seasons and swaps. Pause a listing out of season and restart it when you want. Replacing a listing with another of the same kind (a new bike model for an old one) costs nothing extra.

  5. P5Stopping. Stop any time; a listing stays up until the end of the period you paid for. Part months aren’t refunded. An unpaid listing is paused at the end of its period, not deleted.

  6. P6VAT and invoices. Prices exclude VAT. You get an invoice with VAT; EU businesses with a valid VAT number are invoiced under the reverse charge.

  7. P7Price changes. Announced by e-mail at least 30 days ahead and applied from your next period.

Sharing your own gear

Members renting their own bikes, skis and boards to each other. We provide the listing, the requests and a checklist — the deal is between the two of you.

  • Prices include VAT. No commission — the renter pays you directly; we never take or hold money.
  • During launch every account has Explorer, so you can share 7 items free. Paid extra items come later.
  • Many items or many rentals a month? That’s a business — list as a shop.
  1. G1Who can share. Your account must be at least 7 days old with a confirmed e-mail. Only your own gear, which you use yourself.

  2. G2How many. 2 items free, 5 more with Explorer; more items €1 each a month once billing starts. Many items or many rentals a month means you’re a business — list as a shop (we may ask you to).

  3. G3Checked before it shows. Like every listing, gear is checked and approved before others see it.

  4. G4Requests. The renter sends a request (B2); you accept or decline. Phone and e-mail are shared only after you accept.

  5. G5Money and deposit. Paid between you — in person or by bank transfer, as you agree. We never hold a deposit; the deposit shown on a listing is what the owner asks for. Agree the price, deposit and return time before the handover.

  6. G6At the handover. Both of you take photos of the gear’s condition on your own phones, check it works (brakes, bindings, size) and agree when and where it comes back. On return, check it together before the deposit is given back.

  7. G7Safe gear, careful use. The owner lends gear that is safe and says about any known fault. The renter uses it with care and returns it on time, clean and complete.

  8. G8Damage, loss, late return. Settled between the two of you — we can’t judge money disputes or refund anything, and we give no insurance (check your own). If someone broke these rules, report them: moderators can warn, hide listings or close the account.

For everyone

  1. E1One account, your own. True details, your own account, not shared. Don’t pretend to be another person or business.

  2. E2What you post. Must be yours to share, legal and not misleading — no spam, no other people’s contact details, no hidden advertising.

  3. E3Reports and moderators. Anyone can report a listing, business, review or member. Reports from three trusted members hide an item until a moderator decides. Moderators can hide or remove content and limit or close accounts that break these rules.

  4. E4Changes to these rules. The date at the top shows the last change. Important changes for businesses and members who share gear are e-mailed at least 30 days ahead.
